To KORIMA CLARETIANAS and Benefactors
“Words of Gratitude”
from a Grade 10 student of Sto. Nino Catholic School, Guimaras, Philippines
“Doing household chores at school makes it feel more than a second home.”
In our Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) class, our focus in on cooking. When we were in Grade 9, our lessons were making desserts, appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. We were cooking in some vacant area in our school, like near the sink or study sheds. We found it hard to cook because of the inconvenient area and also the lack of proper tools. Despite of these difficulties, we were able to cook different kinds of dishes successfully. We had overcome the inconvenience of the area and the lack of tools.
Now that we are in Grade 10, our lessons during the 2nd and 3rd quarter were cooking eggs and soups. We were on the same situation. But the good thin there is we could cook in our teachers’ boarding house. This is easier than cooking near a sink or a study shed. There are also tools there that we could use. We don’t need to bring tools from our house anymore.
Now, we are very fortunate with the HOME ECONOMICS BUILDING that KORIMA CLARETIANAS funded for our school. We were very happy when it was finally inaugurated on the 15th of February 2018 and we can now use it in our 4th quarter when we cooked meat dishes. It’s very convenient and beautiful, because the area is wide and beautiful, the water supply is sufficient and there are tools that we can use. We are so lucky and thankful because there people who are very generous enough to donate money for the building that we badly needed.
This time we still need more tools for the next grade levels who will use the H. E. building. We also need a gas range so we will not bring charcoal to make fire.
In behalf of all Sto. Ninans, we would like to thank the KORIMA CLARETIANAS who funded our H. E. building. We promise to use the facilities properly and take care of it. Again, thank you so much! Maraming salamat po! ¡Muchas gracias!
